Root Canals

Dr. Roderick Garcia has practiced Cosmetic and Family dentistry in Albuquerque since 1983. Dr. Garcia's practice is a full-service dental office including procedures such as root canals. Root canals are procedures that remove the nerve from a tooth that is infected, severely inflamed or has died. Teeth needing root canals may present in several ways: 1) No pain or discomfort (2) Pain or discomfort chewing or not (3) Tissue swelling adjacent to the tooth infected (4) a diffuse ache in the jaw (5) referral pain in the jaw above or below the affected tooth. A root canal treatment will save the tooth and allow the tooth to be functional and used as normal after treatment, and once the tooth is restored. Root canal treatments do not have to be uncomfortable with the proper local anesthetic and technique used. After a root canal, the patient will be placed on antibiotics and the appropriate pain medication as needed. Once a root canal is done the tooth will need a crown to cover and protect the tooth.
For over 35 years Dr. Garcia has provided root canal treatment for his patients. For more information on root canals, call Dr. Roderick Garcia at 505-821-6119 and visit www.roderickgarciadmd.com
