How Dental Crowns Can Restore Your Teeth

Dental Crowns

Roderick A. Garcia DMD is a Cosmetic and Family Dentist who has provided excellent dental care for his patients for over 36 years. Dr. Garcia provides a full range of dental procedures including Dental Crowns.

Dental Crowns are dental restorations that cover a tooth that has been broken down past the point where a dental filling can fix it.

Dental Crowns are are use to cover cracked teeth, severely decayed teeth, teeth that have had root canals, severely worn teeth, and for cosmetic reasons(malaligned teeth, severely discolored teeth).

Dental Crowns are made of different materials or a combinations of materials such as solid ceramic, solid zirconia, solid gold and silver, or porcelain fused to all of the previous mentioned materials.

With today's materials and procedures, fit and cosmetic results are excellent.

The process requires an appointment to prepare the tooth, impression the tooth for the dental lab, select a shade, and place a temporary crown on the tooth. Seven to ten days later at the second appointment, the permanent crown is cemented on the tooth with a permanent cement and the crown is adjusted to the bite.
