Occlusal adjustment

If your bite is uneven a bite adjustment may be necessary. This involves slightly adjusting(grinding) on selected teeth that are out of alignment to make teeth contact more evenly. This procedure takes heavy pressure off some teeth and redistributes biting forces more evenly. All of this allows the teeth, jaw, and muscles to function properly. Symptoms of needing an occlusal adjustment are 1) bite does not feel even 2) headaches 3) jaw slides to one side when biting or chewing 4) sensitive teeth to hot and cold 5) discomfort when chewing or biting.  If you have any of these symptoms an occlusal adjustment may be needed.
