This calculus (tartar) is loaded with bacteria and not only causes gum swelling and infection but also bone loss.
Periodontal disease is a condition requiring periodontal scaling and root planing. Periodontal disease has been linked to diabetes, heart and kidney disease,Alzheimer's, asthma, osteoporosis and cancer.
